Sewing Classes
Our Sewing Classes started in 1994. Since that time we have taught and inspired a vast number of sewers.
We provide excellent tuition at all levels, for beginners and experienced sewers.
Our aim is to enthuse and awaken creative senses with our entertaining and instructive classes.
We publish a program of classes at six monthly intervals – January to June and July to December. Every month we hold one day class and one evening class, all on different subjects and each complete in itself. We also have ongoing Patchwork, Heirloom and Quilting Technique classes.
The six-monthly Program will feature at least one Workshop Day, when all materials are included to produce a finished project item.
Our classes are held monthly on Wednesdays
- Day Classes are 10am – 4pm at a cost of £40 inclusive of materials and lunch
- Evening Classes are 6.30 – 9.30pm at a cost of £22 including materials and refreshments
- Workshop Days are 10am – 4pm at a cost of £45 inclusive of all materials and/or patterns. Lunch and refreshments are also included
The classes are held in the shop. Each class will accommodate a maximum of 10 Students and will have 2 Tutors. Although the perfect opportunity to use and explore your own sewing machine, we do have a large range of machines which may be used; very helpful if you are thinking of changing and would like to ‘try out’ before you make your choice.
WE ARE REALLY EXCITED TO HAVE RUTH JARMAN AS OUR RESIDENT TUTOR. SHE HAS BEEN TEACHING REGULARLY AT SUPERSTITCH SINCE 1994. A HUGELY TALENTED TUTOR WITH FANTASTIC METHODS AND IDEAS FOR QUICK AND EASY RESULTS WITH PERFECT FINISHES.
For the past seven years, we have made an annual sewing pilgrimage to Whitstable where, for a whole weekend, Friday to Sunday, we can indulge in sewing to our heart’s content. We stay at a unique property on the beach and have a glorious weekend. Each year has had a different sewing theme when a new exciting method of producing our masterpieces is unveiled.
